Park and Ride to Follow the Foxes
Foxes fans are being encouraged to start the season as they mean to go on by using the park and ride service from Enderby to get to this Saturday’s match.
The service runs to the city centre every 10 minutes from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday. A day ticket is £3 and a group ticket for up to five passengers travelling together is just £3.50.
Supporters can use the new service to arrive in plenty of time for the 3pm kick off against Middlesbrough.
Lesley Pendleton, County Council Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport, said: “With space for 1,000 cars, the park and ride from Enderby can help to ease some of the match day congestion.
“The park and ride terminates in the city centre but goes on to complete a city loop which includes a stop outside Leicester Royal Infirmary, which is only a short walk from the Walkers Stadium. ”
Jamie Tabor, Media and Marketing Manager for Leicester City Football Club, said: “When the site opened in November we were really pleased as the park and ride makes it easier for supporters to get to and from the ground, especially those travelling together as a group ticket is just £3.50.”
The park and ride service is a joint project between the City and County Councils and construction partners Tarmac.
