Fish for first place at Snibston
Young anglers after that elusive match catch are being urged to sign up for a series of summer fishing contests at Snibston Country Park.
Carp, perch, bream. roach, chub and barbell are just some of the catches found in the depths of the attraction’s fishing lake.
Matches as part of the Junior Summer League will take place on Thursday evenings, with the first kicking off on July 15. Anyone who is aged 18 or under on that date can take part, but participants are urged to book their place now.
Entrance is £6 per match and a £10 booking fee is required, which will be refunded to all anglers who fish four or more of the first five matches.
Other match dates are July 22, August 5, 19 and 26 and September 2. The draw will take place at 4.45pm, with fishing from 5.30pm to 9pm.
Matches will be fished on a 'points' basis and all Snibston Match rules apply. These can be found on the notice boards in The Grange Fishery, Snibston All anglers will be allowed to fish the final but must have finished four of the five matches to qualify for prizes which include a junior fishing season ticket, trophies, a shield and vouchers for fishing tackle.
