The fields of Leicestershire hide some remarkable artefacts, many of which have been found by ordinary members of the public.
Join archaeologist Wendy Scott as she introduces some of these interesting objects, including Roman coins and pottery, recorded with the Portable Antiquity Scheme, which catalogues finds made by members of the public in Leicestershire.
Wendy will also be giving advice on how to get into treasure-hunting, who to contact, the tools you’ll need and what to look out for.
This talk is being held as part of Archaeology fortnight and will take place at Enderby Library on Wednesday 28th July, from 6pm until 7pm. Tickets cost £2 each and include refreshments, and they can be bought from Enderby Library now by visiting, or phoning on 0116 3053523.
