Community Groups - Help with Searching
Return to the Community Groups Search
Search by Name
You can search for a community group by entering the name or any part of the name of the group you require. Always use 'and' instead of '&' (ampersand) in your search. For example a search using 'home' will find organisations such as Home Start, Home from Hospital, Homework Club, Homeless Group etc.
Search by Subject
You can search by entering a subject/topic OR selecting a keyword:
- Subject - You can enter a specific subject
term such as embroidery, opera or bird watching,
but if you can't find what you want try using a more general term such as craft,
music or environment. Using terms like women,
toddler, retirement or family will return
organisations which are aimed at these particular sections of the community. You can also combine the
name and subject search, for example by entering Rangers
in the name box and football in the subject box you will find all the football organisations
with Rangers in their name.
- Keyword - You can also search for community groups by selecting a keyword from the dropdown menu . Please note that not all keywords will return a result.
Search by Area
You can select an area to search across by selecting a location OR by entering a postcode and selecting a radius:
- Location
- The default 'anywhere' will search all locations in Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland. You can
select a general area for your search
such as Harborough District or Charnwood, or you can use the scroll bar to find a town or village.
- Postcode - Infolinx can find groups located within 1, 3, 5, 10 or 20 miles of your postcode, just enter the complete postcode and select a radius.
Display
- Results can be displayed with selected information included or excluded. Choose the headings you want to display and de-select those you do not. Contact Details, Description and Location are displayed by default.
- Infolinx retains details of disbanded groups for approximately 6 months after the date they disband. You can choose not to display these groups if you wish.
- You may prefer to see all your results on one page, or just 25, 50 or 100 at a time. The default setting is 25.
Businesses - Help with Searching
Return to the Businesses Search
Search by Name
You can search for a business by entering the name or any part of the name of the business you require. Always use 'and' instead of '&' (ampersand) in your search. For example a search using 'bank' will find businesses such as Barclays Bank, HSBC Bank, Lloyds TSB Bank etc.
Search by Area
You can select an area to search across by selecting a location OR by entering a postcode and selecting a radius:
- Location
- The default 'anywhere' will search all locations in Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland. You can
select a general area for your search
such as Harborough District or Charnwood, or you can use the scroll bar to find a town or village.
- Postcode - Infolinx can find businesses located within 1, 3, 5, 10 or 20 miles of your postcode, just enter the complete postcode and select a radius.
Search by Category
When searching for a business it can help to specify the type of business you are looking for by selecting a related category. There are 3 category levels to select from, the first level contains the broadest categories (for example, Retail) and the third level contains the most specific categories (for example, Travel Agencies). You can choose to search across just a 1st level category, or narrow down you search by selecting a 2nd and 3rd level category.

Speakers - Help with Searching
Return to the Speakers Search
Search by Name
You can search for a speaker by entering their name or any part of their name.
Search by Topic
You can search by entering a subject/topic OR selecting a keyword:
- Topic - You can search for speakers that
talk on specific topic such as animals, sport or art.
If you can't find what you want try using a more general term such as craft,
music or environment.
- Keyword - You can also search for speakers by selecting a keyword from the dropdown menu . Please note that not all keywords will return a result.
Display
You may prefer to see all your results on one page, or just 25, 50 or 100 at a time. The default setting is 25.
Libraries - Help with Searching
Return to the Libraries Search
Search by Name
You can search for a library by entering its name or any part of the name, for example Market Harborough Library.
Search by Area
You can select an area to search across by selecting a location OR by entering a postcode and selecting a radius:
- Location

Search by Venue Name
You can search for a rooms for hire by entering its name or any part of the name, for example Lutterworth Town Hall.
Search by Area
